Husker Saturday

Yesterday was a terrific day! The 3 of us spent the whole day together. We shopped at the outlet mall in Gretna and got adorable clothes for Madelyn and a great Husker N for our front door.






We ate lunch in Jason's trailer






and as we left, a driver's ed student drove the car over the embankment down onto Jason's project.






No injuries but it took about an hour to clean up. Madelyn and I killed time in the back of the Tahoe.






Later that day Madelyn pulled herself up in the crib!

Apple orchard

Yesterday, Madelyn and I went to an apple orchard in Nebraska City. We met my friends Angie (who was visiting from Illinois) and Lisa and their children. We had a fun, relaxing time enjoying the fall weather.

North Platte

Where last week was dealing with a torn up house due to water damage, this week was about the stomach flu. All three of us got it last weekend and Madelyn caught it again on Wednesday, poor girl.

I had to take off yesterday to be home with her and she was feeling much better. We had a fun time playing and I got so much stuff done! It was great.

In the craziness of the last 2 weeks, I forgot to post photos from our time in North Platte with Grandma and Grandpa Maxson, Aunt Courtney and Cousin Corby. Madelyn had a great time with them ... and so did Jason and I.

Hotel

We've spent the last 3 days at the Country Inn and Suites in Omaha while our carpets were airing out after being soaked while we were away last weekend. Loud fans are blowing under the ripped up carpet and the floors in our kitchen and bathroom had to come out too.
Jason was awesome and got us a great suite at the hotel, picked up a pack n play for Madelyn and has been working with the guys and insurance people to get our house back in order.
We are returning to our house this afternoon and will just have to survive for awhile in a torn-up home.

Gotta love it

So we just got back from a nice long weekend in North Platte and found our fridge leaking all over the kitchen. The carpet in the hallway and dining room is wet and the water leaked into our basement. Not a fun way to come home. Guess Jason won't be watching the end of the race ...

Sweet ride

Jason's dad bought a 2002 corvette and let Jason and I go cruising in it yesterday. Jason has always wanted a corvette ... And I've always wanted to drive one. We left Madelyn with Grandma and took it for a spin for about an hour. Such fun! It felt like we were dating and Jason was wooing me with his sexy car.



He likes to drive fast.



Then it was my turn to drive.



Jason's dad said we could use the corvette whenever we wanted. So I know we'll be making a trip to Colorado sometime and Madelyn will stay with Grandma.

Go Big Red

I love fall and all that it brings - cooler weather, spicy scents, warm foods and Husker football. We watched the game at Jason's mom's house after celebrating his nephew's birthday at a pizza shop in town. Madelyn was all ready for the game.

7 months

Today my Madelyn is 7 months old. Hard to believe. We have had a busy month with concerts (sugarland, zac brown band and Eric church), my brother Brent's wedding, and a growing baby. Madelyn is getting her two bottom front teeth in so we have a drooling and sometimes a bit fussy baby. She sits on her own, claps and says "dada".



We also are hoping to build a house next spring and have 2 plots on bold. Exciting times.

Today we are on our way to North Platte to visit Jason's family and to celebrate his nephew's birthday.
